And somewhere between the notifications, the filters, the trends, and the pressure to keep up — a lot of our young ones are quietly losing something we can't afford for them to lose: a sense of who they are, and Whose they are.

This is exactly why Peculiar Heritage for Youth Foundation (PHYF) created this year's Annual Youth Summer Programme — "Peculiar in the Digital Age."

This is more than a holiday programme. It's an intervention.

Over 4 Saturdays, LIVE on Zoom, we are gathering young people ages 8–18 for a journey that will teach them to:

🤖 Understand AI — not fear it, not worship it, but master it wisely and safely 📱 Use their voice well — turning social media into a tool for good, not harm 🛡️ Recognize danger online — predators, scams, manipulation, and what to never share 💪 Stand out with courage — holding onto their identity even when the crowd pulls the other way 👨‍👩‍👧 Come back to what's real — family, trusted adults, and genuine connection beyond the screen

This isn't generic "internet safety" content copied from a random blog. This is wisdom, delivered with love, by seasoned facilitators — including our lead resource person, Coach Richie — with up to a decade of experience each, teaching the kind of practical, life-shaping guidance many would charge thousands of naira for.

We named this foundation Peculiar Heritage for a reason. Because our children were never meant to blend into a digital world that tells them who to be. They were made to stand apart — with wisdom, with boldness, and with real connection to God, family, and truth.
